Why we chose The Chief Project?
  • Beeswax Wraps made in Hong Kong - support local!
  • Cute pattern designs
  • Upcycles excess textile factory waste from the global fashion industry by turning them into reuseable daily products to replace single-use disposables
  • Reduce waste by (upcycling) waste - the best low waste approach to sustainability in our opinion 😉
  • Employs housewives with sewing skills who are looking to work again in Hong Kong

Product Highlights
  • Travel and on-the-go friendly: lightweight and small enough to fit into your pocket for when you're feeling peckish while being out
  • Use for local bakery goods or small amount of (dried) produce. Liquids don't keep in beeswax wraps unfortunately. We suggest reusing your containers or glass jars for that.
  • Reduces your plastic waste, e.g: plastic cling film
  • Reuseable and washable. Save those money from buying cling film/wraps!
  • Easy to use. Easy to fix when the wax wears out!
  • 100% natural and biodegradable. 100% compostable.
  • Beeswax: (naturally) antibacterial
  • Keeps fresh food or cooked food *freshly fresh* in room temperature or in the fridge

3 pieces per box:
Small: 28cm x 20cm
Medium: 38cm x 25cm
Large: 50cm x 32cm

Use and Care

How to use

  • Fold into a small pouch to carry dried snacks or sandwiches on the go.
  • To use as food wrap: fold the wrap into a bag or wrap produce in while shopping for produce.
  • Replace plastic cling film/wrap by placing over a container as a cover. Shape the wrap around the container and use your warm hands to soften the beeswax while sealing it.

Beeswax Wrap Care

  • Wash it with cool water and few drops of detergent if needed.
  • Do NOT wash with hot water as it will melt the beeswax off!
  • Do not crush it or scrub it with brush or sponge.
  • Hang to dry after washed and fold it up for storage.
  • Do not use it on hot stuff or place it on hot surfaces.
  • Do not put the wrap into washing machine or dish washer.
  • Do not put the wrap into microwave or oven.
  • Keep it away from heat.

Upcycled 100% cotton textile cloth dipped in beeswax
  • Compost or recycle the paper box in the public paper recycling bins, or to Waste No Mall and Go Green SYP drop off points.
  • Compost the cloth when it wears out. Beeswax is an organic matter - it is compostable! (Alternatively toss into bin if no textile recycling is available (after washing off beeswax.)
